Christmas Running Playlist

Christmas Running Playlist

If you’ve been following along on Instagram, then you know that I decided about a month ago to set a goal of being a “runner.” I was running regularly until about 10 years ago when I got a stress fracture. Afterwards, I never got back into it. I do cardio exercise regularly, but it hasn’t been in the form of running.

I found a walking-to-running plan on Pinterest, and I thought I would give it a try. My husband and I weight train 5-6 days a week, so I would be lying if I gave the impression that I was starting from zero activity level. Even so, I have found it to be very difficult. About a month into the plan, I hit a mental wall. The plan was requiring a set number of minutes running, then a set number walking, then a different set number of minutes running, etc. I was finding that counting the minutes until I was “supposed” to start walking again (before running again, LOL) was actually making it more difficult for me.

So I’ve set the Pinterest plan to the side, and I am just working on increasing the number of minutes per day that I am able to run. I am allowing a rest day in between each run until I have more endurance. In the meantime, I’ve signed up to run a 5k on Christmas Eve. I put together a Christmas Eve running playlist to listen to while I train.

I use Apple Music, and I will link it HERE if you want to use it as well. (Apple Music comes free with my cell phone service, sorry Spotify users.)

A Modern Christmas Playlist

Do you feel like you’ve heard every Christmas song there ever was? I love classic Christmas songs. In fact, I enjoy finding Christmas vinyl records to play. But I have found that sometimes I get tired of hearing the same old Christmas songs. I’ve put together a Christmas playlist with some fresh voices singing familiar tunes.

Confession: I started working on this playlist over the summer, and I MAY have been listening to it ever since then. As I’ve mentioned on my other playlist posts, I like to add songs as I discover them, so this playlist could change. But for now, here is what’s playing on it:

  • Merry Christmas Darling, Christina Perri
  • Carole of the Bells, Tyrone Wells
  • God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Allie Moss
  • The Christmas Song, “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire” (Feat. Acacia), David Ian
  • Angels We Have Heard on High, Jillian Edwards
  • Christmas Time Is Here, Daniella Andrade
  • O Come All Ye Faithful, Tyrone Wells
  • Auld Lang Syne, Allie Moss
  • Winter Wonderland, Everly
  • Christmas Time with You (feat. Acacia and Andre Miguel Mayo), David Ian
  • Sleigh Ride, Everly
  • Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Jason Manns
  • Silent Night, Katie Herzig
  • White Christmas (feat. Jared Padalecki), Jason Manns
  • Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree, She & Him
  • O Come, O Come Emmanuel, Matthew Perryman Jones
  • Have Yourself a Merry Light Christmas, Ingrid Michaelson
  • O Holy Night, Cary Brothers

You can add this playlist to your library either on Spotify or Apple Music. Just a note that 2 of the songs on my original Apple Music playlist are not available on Spotify, so they are slightly different.

Autumn Ambience Playlist

Am I the only one that gets bored of listening to the same music over and over again? I’m adding to my playlist collection with an “Autumn Ambience”. I really like saving playlists because when I’m in the car, cleaning, or cooking I can quickly pull up a playlist that I haven’t listened to in a while.

The playlists I make are likely to change as I find new songs and artists to add. For now, here are a few songs that I have been listening to on this Autumn themed playlist:

  • Winds of Change, Vance Joy
  • Autumn Leaves, Ed Sheeran
  • Fireside Song, Genesis (You’ve got to wait about a minute into this song for it to get going.)
  • Leaves That Are Green, Paul Simon
  • Somewhere Only We Know, Keane
  • Once You Know, Good Morning
  • Wheat for Billie, Jamie Lawson
  • Changes, David Bowie
  • Autumn Leaves, Eric Clapton
  • Simple Song, Passenger
  • Golden Leaves (acoustic), Passenger
  • Seasons, Rival & Cadmium
  • Seasons Change, Scotty McCreery

Summer Backdrop Playlist

I put together a playlist that I enjoy listening to as a “backdrop” during the summertime. My Thanksgiving playlist has been getting quite a few views, so I thought that I might share this one as well.

Just a note that this is a growing, changing playlist. I may add to it or change it if the feeling arises. Also, you may notice a mix of genres and styles. I enjoy all kinds of music from country to R & B. Don’t rush to dismiss a song on the playlist just because it’s from a genre that you don’t normally listen to. I try to stick with similar tempos, themes, and moods. I try my best to make a playlist that sticks with a vibe instead of a genre. So, enjoy it.

This playlist can be found on Apple Music and Spotify.

Thanksgiving Music Playlist

Just a quick post to share some of my favorite songs to play on Thanksgiving.

This is an old graphic. A lot more songs have been added to both the Apple and Spotify versions of this playlist.

Just a quick post to share some of my favorite songs to play on Thanksgiving. We’re in Georgia, so Georgia on My Mind was included. I like the Michael Buble version. It’s easily swapped with a song about your favorite state.

Do you have some favorite “Thanksgiving” songs that sound similar to these? I prefer this vibe to some jumpier ones while I’m cooking, eating, or talking around the table.
